 Defective battery and garbage tools July 25, 2010

Alright, first off, the tools that are included with this battery are complete garbage. The green pry tool is too fragile to get the screen off. I was trying to be as gentle with it as possible and it became un-usable after the first attempt. I ended up using a suction cup to remove the screen, which I highly recommend. Second, the screw driver that is included is too big for the tiny screws and just end up stripping the heads. I had to buy a separate jewelers kit to find the right size. Even if they had included the correct size, the tip is not magnetized so the screws are very hard to put back in (if you've never performed this task, the screws are so small that you can't pick them up with your fingers, even using your fingernails is very difficult). Oversights like these make me wonder if they even tried this kit out before they decided to sell it.
On top of all the tool issues, the battery that I got didn't hold a charge. After I changed the battery out, I charged it over night and it wouldn't turn on. Put my old battery back in and it worked fine. Thinking that I might have put the new one in wrong, I replaced it a second time and had the same problem. Again, put my old battery in and it worked. Words really can't explain how much I DON'T recommend this kit. I wouldn't trust these guys to sell me a stick of gum.

After 2 weeks my iphone is in the same state as with its original battery. I have to keep it plugged in to my laptop to make it though the day.

The screw drive does not fit the Phillip head screws on the base of the phone and the pry tool breaks before completing the job. So I still do not have any idea of the battery quality. At this point I may not install it and opt for a mail order battery replacement service. If you are looking for an iPhone battery replacement kit I suggest that you keep looking. Based on my limited experience be sure to buy a kit that contains a suction cup for easier screen removal and look for a better quality screwdriver and pry tool.

I ordered this batter and came promptly from Mac Pro. However, when I installed it, the phone would not turn on. I only got the apple screen when the phone was plugged into the wall, which promptly faded and nothing else happened. I tried re-installing the battery and restoring the phone (just got an error), but got nowhere. I put the old battery back in and the phone worked fine. I called the vendor and they happily agreed to give me a refund. However, i was still stuck with paying for shipping it back. I do not recommend this product.

Battery was and is in the garbage. Install went as expected, but after charging overnight the "fun" began. As soon as the battery reached around 80% charge remaining the phone began a continuous loop of shutting down and restarting. Changed back to old battery and zero problems. Changed back to this battery, restarts almost immediately. Maybe I just got one bad apple in a million, but I can't recommend this product based on my experience.
