Works as advertised on YouTube. I'm sure it can charge at least three iPhones from 20 percent battery condition (red bar inside battery icon). It charges a brand new iPhone 3Gs (showing only emergency use power) in just over an hour to full charge.
The batter pack itself is not that heavy, maybe the same weight as the iPhone. The included charging cable doubles as input (charging IMP500 from AC outlet 110-240v) and output to iPhone with USB A and standard Apple dock connector. A mini USB connector and another type of smaller USB connector are included. With the mini USB connector it can charge a array of electronic devices, e.g. newer TomTom GPSs (GO 920, XL 300 series, TomTom One, etc.) some cellphones, etc.
I bought three, two for the kids' iPhones. This battery pack sets me free from the tyranny of looking for an AC outlet before end of the day. It's like having at least three days' power in my pocket. Used to carry a USB AC plug and cable but not anymore.

I spent hours researching battery extenders for my iPhone 3g. I consider myself a power user and rely on my phone instead of carrying a laptop. I am constantly looking for inconspicuous wall outlets to recharge my phone. I first purchased a competitors (after experiencing IMP500 they are just another company) battery leather case that had half the power of the IMP500 iPhone/iPad/iTouch Backup Battery All-in-One Combo Charger(Color white/blue). The other company leather case fit except the on/off switch kept breaking. I needed to find a different option that is when I found the most awesome battery charger ever. NEWTrent has no competition because they are the LEADER in Laptop Batteries and iPhone External Batteries. The super fast free shipping and in stock product was shipped and arrived to my door with in 72 hours of purchase. Wow! This is unheard of in this industry most companies make claims of item's being stateside and in stock only to be drop shipped from another country. The IMP500 not only has allowed me to get 4 complete recharges back to back with 2 lights remaining. It has also kept me from knowing exactly the recharge capacity because I have never been able to drain it through my daily use. I know that my IMP500 has all the power I need. The size is awesome it allows me to carry it in a shirt pocket or my sport coat and use my phone as normal because of the retractable USB cable and no one notices at all. This product and company deserves all the praise it receives because it is the Real McCoy. I have been fortunate to receive my new iPhone 4 and the leather case that kept having faulty switches even though the phone fits it is not compatible. My IMP500 is compatible and works like a trooper without any hitches. I recommend this product for anyone looking for a battery to perform beyond your expectations.

I bought two of these. One in white and one in black.
Initially, I was a bit skeptical as I've always been a fan of having a charge on hand for the many toys that I have (Blackberry, Itouch, Ipod, Kindle, etc).
But as I acquire more and more toys, it's become annoying to carry so many chargers for everything.
I was browsing for a birthday gift for the fiance and ended up getting one for myself because I realized that it'd make my life easier too.
When it arrived, I opened it and it seemed pretty straightforward. There is one wall adapter which has a USB and from there, you would plug in whichever adapter you needed (mini USB, etc).
I did notice that mine did not come 100% fully charged as when I plugged it in, it charged it for about an hour before saying it was full.
I used it on a overnight trip to my parents house. I was flashing low on battery on my Blackberry 9700 and plugged it in. I timed it and it seemed to take about 3 hours to fully charge the BB. Granted, I was using it at the same time (pushing and pulling data which tends to drain the battery).
I also plugged in the Itouch when it was done with the Blackberry and it seemed to take about an hour or two to fully charge it.
The battery was still at 'full' charge when I turned it off. I must say I was impressed as I travel pretty frequently and often have to turn off the Itouch or stop playing games as they tend to drain the battery.
I do like that you can do multiple toys but mine can only do one at a time. I thought I had read that you could do multiple but it may have been a higher model #.
Simple and does what it claims. Didn't fry my toys and that's all I was wanting.

The battery definitely didn't last as long as I expected. About 25% less capacity. When I asked the company about this, they offered either a 20% discount ($7) or if I shipped it back they would look into it. Given the cost of shipping it back I took the discount.
Overall I'm satisfied with the purchase. The set of adapters cover all the electronic devices my wife and I carry around and the battery has a permanent home in the diaper bag. It's great not having to worry about conserving battery when on a day trip away from the car charger.
